How to Style Khaki Pants (Yes, Khakis)

A few weeks ago, we received a pair of paperbag waist khaki KanCan pants and every girl in the store cocked her head to the side and went "huh." I can't be the only one who sees khaki pants and gets flashbacks of late 90s early 2000s trauma. But these pants are seriously cute and I think if we showed how to style them, you'd think they were cute too! So buckle up, because khakis are no longer just for Walmart and Target employees, they're for you too!

First things first, I had to get my trusty, fashionable model Darbi. I told her what we were shooting and asked "How would you wear these" below are the 5 ways we came up with on how to style Khaki Pants. The pants have a "paperbag" waist that basically means it's high waisted and  has gathered fabric  coming out the top, above the cinched area of the waist.
Style No. 1: Black turtle neck

Immediately I envisioned these pants with a black turtle neck tucked in, with black flats, booties, or heels. Darbi made it her own by adding her black van-like slip ons. This is a classic business chic look. Keeping it neutral for work or for a dinner. We did a high pony and *I* would add a black statement earring or large gold hoops. She kept it simple which totally works too!

Style No. 2: Pair with any Navy top

We styled a mannequin in store with this navy sweater and loved it. Something about the navy mixing with the distressed khaki of the pants meshed really well. If you work in a more relaxed work environment or for a more casual day look. These pants are versatile!
Style No. 3: A bright color
This was a Darbi creation! Tossing on the seafoam green dolman sleeve slit top for a pop of color was genius! We were both apprehensive as to what it would turn out like--but it ended up being my favorite of all our looks. She tucked the top in and bloused it out so you can't really tell the pants are paperbag and that is totally okay! This is another casual or business casual laid back look. You could wear this to a laid back shower.
Style No. 4: Leopard!
Now you know we couldn't resist adding some leopard! This top is so popular it's already almost sold out! It's linked hereif you want to snag it. Again we weren't sure how this would turn out, but we didn't hate it! The mix of patterns with the leopard and the distressed khaki helps this semi-monochromatic look work. Wear this to girls lunch and you're sure to be the most fashion-forward of the group.
There you have it folks! If you've been inspired to jump on the trend, you can snag this exact pair at giarose.com! Along with all the tops styled.
Until next time.
