Fashion Show Recap

Our Spring Collection is finally live!! When I tell you I’ve been waiting for this drop in January, I’m being 100% honest. Sloan and I traveled to Dallas Market in January and selected the best of the best for Spring and have been hoarding it in our office and store room for months. I’m thrilled it’s finally live and shoppable for all of you. We kicked off our Spring Collection with the annual Gia Rose Walk that Walk Fashion Show on Saturday March 6.

The Gia Rose Fashion Show is one of our favorite events each year. The Spring season brings a freshness to our lives in general; flowers blooming, temperatures rising, sun shining, and of course, the new clothes. Spring dresses, florals, pastels, neons, shorts, I could go on and on. So naturally, the fashion show is used to usher in the season for us. Personally,  I have already shoved all my heavy sweaters to the back of the closet and brought out swing dresses and dusted off my sandals. Let’s get into the recap and I’ll share some of my favorites and must haves from the Fashion Show and Spring Collection.

First, I have to shout-out the awesome models!! We gathered a group of fantastic, local ladies to show off the new styles. Each of the girls is unique; their jobs, ages, body types, lifestyles, and personal styles. It was so fun to shop with them, get to know their styles, and dress them for their debut!

Now, to the clothes!! I want to start with the Spring dresses. These are some of my favorites. The For the Fierce dress Katie is wearing with a distressed denim jacket and platform sandals just screams "Girls Trip to the winery". I made her get the outfit with the promise that we would take that trip this Spring.

I'm actually buying this Printed Ruffle Sleeve dress in extended sizes because of how cute Molly looks in it! You can't tell in the photo but she paired it with Robin's Egg blue open toed pumps and matching earrings. Hello Easter outfit!

Mallory looked just darling in this chambray dress and blush sneakers. This outfit is perfect for work or weekend wear.

Next up, Jumpsuits! Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of jumpsuits for quite some time. I'm short and they're not always flattering, however! The ones we have in store right now are F A B U L O U S! Check out Terri in the elegant denim jumper (can be worn on or off the shoulder) and Kylie in the lilac floral jumpsuit, that I think we're all envious of.

If you're not a jumpsuit girl, try your hand at the jumpsuit's sister the romper. Mallory is wearing the blush striped romper . We also have an extended sizing romper here. I said above I wasn't a jumpsuit girl, but I love a good romper. Dresses, Rompers, and Jumpsuits are what I like to call a "full outfit" (I'm sure I'm not the only one that calls it that.) You're fully dressed and only need to add accessories when you wear one of these items. There's not hassle of matching colors or textures or patterns. If I can, I always grab one of these "full outfit" items.

Next are a couple of Spring & Summer staples. You know what I'm talking about, shorts& kimonos. Whether they're a trusty pair of denim cut offs or a stylish hot pink  or my personal favorite, black scalloped--shorts are a must have. Now, I know we ladies aren't all a fan, we're complaining about how pale our legs are or "dimply' or whatever we see as flaws and reasons we can't wear shorts.

Kaitlin is vacation ready (aren't we all) in the hot pink waterfall shorts and the pink lady kimono. How fun is this pink toned look?! Complete with rose gold platform sandals and sunglasses.

Nicohle is rocking the casual daytime look in the scallop shorts and basic stripe v-neck. Sometimes the word basic has a negative connotation, but there's nothing wrong with a basic outfit! The black and white color palette gives room to experiment with color in other avenues. And not for nothing, I love a "basic" outfit. Nicohle looks great! And I'm buying the shorts.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Kaitlin is the ultimate SEK girl in the lovely lavender striped tank and distressed denim shortsand the playtime slip on sneakers. She's even carrying a Myra backpack! As I say almost daily "A STAR!"

We had such a fun time on Saturday and are so thankful to everyone who came out and shopped with us! Gia Rose is like a brand new store with all the new arrivals. There isn't enough space for me to share all the goodness. I grabbed a few pieces, but I can honestly say I'll be getting more because they're just so good and there is something for everyone! So now that the fashion show is over, let Spring officially begin!!

XO,
